I Couldn't Sleep is an installment of art fueled by Synesthesia.
Synesthesia helps group certain memories, atmospheres and emotions that I apply to my work as an approach to fully express my vision to my audience. Synesthesia is a neurological condition in which information meant to stimulate one of the senses stimulates several senses simultaneously. I always see the number 7 in the color yellow, 8 is purple, rectangles are cold and black, voices can feel of cool, chlorine scented water. It’s been so my whole life, though it still makes little sense to me and others around me. I use this to start a conversation with my audience by adding in tangible elements |
